Bringing Southwark Faith community together

The SMFF works with the Council, the Police, voluntary & community organisations and in collaboration with its own members. Our aim is to help make Southwark a better place to live for all its people from all ethnicities, cultures and beliefs.

Welcome to the web site of the Southwark MultiFaith Forum (SMFF).

SMFF was founded in 2003 and coordinated by Southwark Council until 2009. The current website shows the work during that time. SMFF is now coordinated by volunteers developing new ways of working to help connect the good work that is happening all over the borough.

From small beginnings…

During 2003 to 2009, the Forum was managed by a Management Group of 10 individuals from Southwark’s different faith communities. Since then it has been managed, without administrative support, by a small team of active residents from different faiths who were previously members of the Management Committee.

Southwark MultiFaith Forum is for everybody

The development of the Southwark Multi-Faith Forum (SMFF) is an exciting initiative that is led by and for faith based organisations such as Churches, mosques, temples and other community organisations who define themselves in some way by their religion/faith.

We appreciate this kind of training and expect this will be continued as we can now fill in the application by ourselves (Participant, How to write a funding application) My confidence in applying and conceiving projects has increased and I can go ahead and send an application (Participant, How to write a funding application) It was a really good evening , I enjoyed the singing and the Turkish dancers (Participant

I became a member of SMFF in 2006. l enjoy their events particularly the training and open forum meetings. SMFF has done alot of work in trying to bridge the gap between faith groups and the Council. With the information gained from the forum l now have confidence in the working of the Council and have a greater understanding of how to voice my concerns and influence decisions. I now
