Do you think smacking a child is necessary, in order to form stable, decent young adults, or is it child abuse?

As people of faith, the members of the Southwark Multi-Faith Forum have strong views about whether smacking is discipline or physical abuse. How about you?

Come along to the meeting and get the opportunity to raise issues and discuss solutions to the above. There will be food and refreshments (and a creche available on a first come first serve basis)...

The development of the Southwark Multi Faith Forum is an exciting initiative that is led by and for faith-based organisations such as churches, mosques, temples and other community organisations who define themselves in some way by their religion/faith. Members of the Forum believe that by working together on practical community activities and on lobbying Government bodies for policies that will help those most in need, we can achieve more for the people of Southwark than can be done acting alone.

Given the increasing atmosphere of unease and mistrust amongst various sectors of society, it is crucial that the various religious communities within Southwark can come together and work towards the improvement of all their communities, and show that though we are different, from different backgrounds and religious persuasions, we can work together towards the better of our society. So make your way to the event which will be an evening of learning and encouragement.
Please book in advance to secure your place as spaces are limited. We look forward to seeing you there!!

Southwark Stakeholders Forum
Southwark Stakeholders Forum is a quarterly event, debating pressing issues concerning our community of Southwark. For the first time in many years, people are now seeking an alternative way in resolving issues of Finance, youth culture, planning but to name a few concerns. It is time that the communities within Southwark get together to look at ways forward. The community and all stakeholders have a responsibility to contribute in that process.

The forum will be an opportunity for interested parties to dialogue with representatives from the Business Sector, Local Authority, Residence of Southwark and local Churches.
